Focus Workshop Sectoral Transformation

28th of February in Berlin, in cooperation with DIW

Especially in times of political uncertainty, consistency and reliability is critically important to guide decision making. Efficient and stringent, goal-oriented reflection of interdependencies between the real economy and financial sector is essential. This is the only way to accelerate the transformation of the German and European economies securing competitiveness and future resilience.

As agreed at the kick-off workshop on 5 September 2024, we will address and discuss these challenges by focusing on “indicators”, “scenarios” and “policy framework” in consecutive workshops. During the workshop on December 3rd 2024, we already exchanged views on requirements, scope and content of a meaningful set of indicators, relevant and applicable in decision making across individual companies, sectors and in policy formulation.

On February 28, we focused on requirements for transition scenarios based on the results of our work to date. As in the previous discussion on indicators, we included the levels of "development of the industrial location", "design of the regulatory framework" and "efficient implementation at company level". We focused on value-add and benefits of scenarios for the efficient and targeted coordination between perspectives in the real economy and the financial sector.
